Hello from the Bloomington Convention & Visitors Bureau. We are the official marketing organization of the city of Bloomington, MN. As such, we promote travel and tourism to the city, its partners, local attractions and the surrounding communities. We’re also here to help answer any questions you may have about Bloomington. EXECUTIVE TEAM

Bonnie L. Carlson, CDME, President & CEO

Bonnie has been with the Bloomington Convention & Visitors Bureau for 33 years of service and has made significant contributions to the state’s travel industry. Carlson has been at the forefront of the hospitality industry, crafting and supporting policies and initiatives promoting the industry at every level – local, state, national and international. She has been active in several other tourism organizations, including the Explore Minnesota Tourism Council, the Executive Committee of the United States Travel Association, Destination Marketing Association International and the Minnesota Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus.

Jan's areas of responsibilities as Vice President of Marketing include leisure marketing and advertising, internet marketing, and special events, including the Bloomington Diamond Service Awards. She has been a part of the Bloomington Convention & Visitors Bureau for 36 years and works with a fabulous, creative and loyal team, as well as industry partners.

Sherri Mullery, Vice President of Business and Foundation Partnerships

Sherri leads our Business and Foundation Partnerships team, which builds relationships and supports the Bloomington CVB initiatives. Business partnerships enhance our marketing programs and create awareness for local and national company products at Bloomington CVB events, on the website, and in print media. In building relationships we position Bloomington as a brand.

Daniel S. O’Neill, CDME, Vice President of Strategy and Sales

Dan has 10 years of service with the Bloomington Convention & Visitors Bureau (BCVB). He heads up the Group Sales Department for the BCVB. Dan came to the BCVB from the advertising side of the industry. His background includes hotel strategic planning, brand marketing and market research, covering business-to-consumer and business-to-business. Dan's accounts have included Radisson Hotels & Resorts, Country Inn & Suites, Caribou Coffee, Northwest Airlines, Delta, American Airlines and National Rental.

Diamond Service Awards


As a salute to outstanding employees in the Bloomington tourism, hospitality and retail industries, the Bloomington Convention & Visitors Bureau created the Bloomington Diamond Service Awards. This event honors and recognizes seventeen exceptional individuals on the front lines of hospitality who contribute to Bloomington’s success as a friendly, world-class destination. A special Spirit of Hospitality awards honors an individual who has made a significant contribution to the travel industry. This award embodies the spirit of commitment to the success and future of Minnesota and Bloomington as a world-class visitor destination.

Bloomington Convention & Visitors Bureau Foundation Golf Tournament

The Bloomington Convention & Visitors Bureau annually hosts a golf tournament to benefit its Foundation for education, service and hospitality. This annual sellout is held at a local course, and participants receive a deluxe gift at check in and are treated to a lunch, reception and dinner. Sponsors truly make the event successful with sponsored beverages and snacks throughout the course and unique contests at the holes.
